Designated Responsible Person/Producer/Party (DRLP)

A producer designated by a business entity to ensure compliance with state laws and regulations is known as a designated responsible licensed producer (DRLP).

A business entity is required to have a DRLP for each line of authority (LOA) on their business entity insurance license.

The DRLP must hold the same license class and lines of authority as the business entity and is responsible for any compliance violation.
