How Does Louisiana Compare to Other States?

Louisiana is one of many states with a biennial renewal cycle with licenses expiring on the last day of the licensee’s birth month. The state requires fingerprinting and applicants must pass the appropriate licensing exam(s), but there is no pre-licensing education requirement.

Our Insurance Licensing Across All 50 States infographic puts the full picture on one page: renewal cycles, expiration trigger dates, CE hours, fingerprinting requirements, and application fees for every state.
