Don’t Let State Licensing Exceptions Catch You Off Guard

Every State Has an Item on Its “Watch List” Multi-state licensing becomes complicated at scale. Most licensing teams understand the basic processes behind producer licensing. A producer must have the appropriate license, remain CE compliant, renew on time, and keep personal information current. Challenges typically begin when rule exceptions arise. Alabama is a good example. Certain California, Hawaii, and New York residents applying for an Alabama non-resident Independent Adjuster license must pass the Alabama examination. Alabama also has a separate CE requirement for non-resident adjuster license renewals. Delaware presents a different consideration. Its resident licenses share a February 28 renewal deadline, creating a concentration of renewal activity at once. Delaware also has reciprocity rules for adjuster examinations and continuing education. Overlooking such rule exceptions or special licensing requirements can result in compliance issues, business interruptions, and additional work to correct the issue.
