Illinois 2025 Appointment Renewals: What Carriers Need to Know
Illinois insurance carriers with Limited Lines Producers should prepare for the 2025 appointment renewal period, running November 3, 2025, through January 2, 2026. Electronic processing through NIPR is mandatory, and all renewal invoices must be submitted by the deadline to avoid appointment cancellations. This guide outlines key deadlines, termination instructions, license classes, state fees, and NIPR processing requirements, helping carriers navigate the process efficiently and maintain compliance.
Illinois Renewal Period and Deadlines
Appointments for Limited Lines Producers with active licenses on the Producer Database (PDB) are eligible for renewal from November 3, 2025, to January 2, 2026. Termination requests for appointments not to be renewed must be submitted by October 27, 2025. Appointments issued after this date will receive a 2026 expiration date and will not appear on the current renewal invoice. Failure to meet the January 2 deadline will result in cancellation and require a new license application.
License Classes and Lines of Authority (LOA)
The renewal applies only to Limited Lines Producers with specific license classes, including:
Baggage or Limited Travel Health or Trip Cancellation
Farm Mutual
HMO Enroller
Industrial Accident and Health
Industrial Life
Legal Expense
Limited Health Service Organization
Credit Life Accident and Health
Payment and NIPR Fees
All renewals must be submitted electronically via NIPR; paper checks are not accepted. NIPR fees are 1% of the total state fee, with a minimum of $5 and a maximum of $1,000. Illinois’ state fee is $50 per appointment renewal. Example: 100 appointments would generate a $5,000 state fee, with a $50 NIPR processing fee. Electronic payment methods include credit card and electronic check; instructions and limitations are available on the NIPR website.
Reconciliation and Compliance
Carriers with an NAIC CoCode can reconcile company appointments using the Company Appointment Report (CAR) before renewal invoices are generated. Terminations can also be processed through NIPR’s Interactive Appointment and Termination Application. Subscribing to these NIPR services ensures accuracy, mitigates errors, and maintains compliance with Illinois state regulations. Questions or disputes should be addressed with support@nipr.com before submitting payment.
Summary
Illinois carriers should act promptly to ensure Limited Lines Producer appointments are renewed correctly. Adhering to NIPR electronic processing requirements, meeting deadlines, and verifying fees will prevent cancellations, maintain compliance, and avoid unnecessary administrative delays. Staying informed and leveraging NIPR tools ensures a smooth renewal process for the 2026 license year.
