Don’t Miss the 2025 Massachusetts Appointment Renewal Window: What Carriers Need to Know
Don’t Miss the Massachusetts Appointment Renewal Window
Massachusetts company appointment renewal invoices will be available starting July 19, 2025, at 8:00 AM Central Time, and the renewal period will close promptly on August 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM Central Time. To stay compliant and avoid unnecessary charges, now is the time to review your producer appointments and act. Here’s are the key points you need to know.
Dates and Termination Deadline
To avoid being billed for appointments you no longer need, all terminations must be processed by July 14, 2025. Any appointments submitted on or after July 1, 2025, will not be included in the 2025 billing cycle, they’ll roll into the 2026 renewal instead. Once renewed, appointments remain active through June 30, 2026.
There is no late renewal window, so it’s critical to submit everything on time.
Massachusetts Renewal Fees and Payment Requirements
The state renewal fee is $75 per license-class for individuals or $75 per member for business entities. NIPR will also apply a processing fee equal to 1% of the total state fees, with a minimum of $5 and a maximum of $1,000.
All payments must be made electronically through NIPR, the Massachusetts Division of Insurance will not accept direct payments. Acceptable payment methods include:
- Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) for invoices up to $60,000
- Electronic checks (ACH) from U.S.-based banks
If you’re using ACH, make sure your bank pre-authorizes NIPR ACH ID 9431763793. Note: Returned checks will incur a $25 fee.
Tools for Pre-Invoice Reconciliation
To ensure your records are accurate before the invoices go live, carriers are encouraged to use the Company Appointment Report (CAR) or NIPR’s Interactive Termination Application. These tools are available to NIPR Subscribers or through an authorized NIPR Gateway Reseller.
These resources are designed to help you manage and streamline appointment terminations before renewal fees hit your books.
Parting Words
Staying ahead of Massachusetts appointment renewals helps you avoid late surprises and stay in good standing. Don’t forget to terminate unwanted appointments by July 14, review your list, and prepare to pay starting July 19.
