Alabama 2025 Carrier Appointment Renewals: Key Dates and Fee Changes
The Alabama Department of Insurance has announced that the 2025 Carrier Appointment Renewal period will run from January 6, 2025, to March 1, 2025. Insurance professionals must complete their NIPR appointment renewals during this window for the following carrier appointments: Title Insurance Agent, Insurance Producer and/or Business Entity, Service Representative, and Portable Electronics Insurance.
First, let’s breakdown the fees:
- Title Insurance Agent: $10.00
- Insurance Producer and/or Business Entity: $25.00
- Service Representative: $40.00
- Portable Electronics Insurance: $25.00
Key Deadlines to Watch:
The appointment termination deadline is December 31, 2024. If you need to terminate any appointments, do so by this date, as no further terminations will be processed after that to reduce the number of appointments on your January 6th invoice. To review a listing of your current appointed producers, visit and use the SBS Company Search tool.
What If You Miss the Renewal Window?
Alabama offers late renewal periods, but they come with escalating penalties:
- March 1–31, 2025: $250 plus the invoice fee
- April 1–30, 2025: $500 plus the invoice fee
- May 1–31, 2025: $750 plus the invoice fee
All renewals invoices must be processed through the NIPR. Invoices will be posted January 6, 2025. No renewals will be accepted through the Alabama state website or NIPR resellers. And remember, all payments are non-refundable, so make sure to meet the deadlines to avoid penalties! View and pay your renewal invoices here: Company Appointment Renewal Invoices | NIPR..
Mark your calendar and handle your renewals early to avoid the extra fees.
