Licensees must complete a total of 24 hours of continuing education every two years.
The renewal period is biennial, occurring every two years.

If licensed for less than a year on first renewal, CE requirements are deferred until the next renewal period. Adjusters other than public adjusters are exempt from CE requirements. Limited lines agents, such as those licensed solely in credit, travel, crop, or surety lines, are exempt from CE requirements. Agents licensed solely for the purpose of receiving renewal commissions on existing contracts can be exempt from CE with a signed affidavit affirming they no longer sell products.
Within 30 days of license expiration, proof of CE can be provided and the license renewed without penalty. After 30 days but within 60 days, license reinstatement is possible by proving current CE and paying a late penalty. After 60 days but within 12 months, reinstatement requires getting current on CE and submitting a new application. After 12 months, reapplication as a new applicant is necessary, including fulfilling pre-licensing training and relevant exams.
