Louisiana 2025 Business Entity Appointment Renewals: What You Need to Know
Staying compliant just got a little easier with Louisiana’s streamlined company appointment renewal process. Starting July 1, 2025, renewals for Life, Accident & Health, Property & Casualty, and other major lines of authority will be available through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR). Here’s what you need to know before invoices go live. For the full announcement click here: Louisiana, Business Appointment Renewal | NIPR
Important Renewal Dates & Deadlines
Louisiana’s Business Entity renewal invoice period runs from July 1 through August 1, 2025, with invoices posted to NIPR’s website starting at 8:00 AM CDT on July 1. Companies must submit termination requests for appointments not being renewed by 4:00 PM CDT on June 27, 2025. Invoices will disappear from the NIPR portal after 4:00 PM CDT on August 1, so timely action is critical. Your invoice can be found here: Company Appointment Renewals User Agreement
Who Is Impacted
This renewal applies to business entity appointments covering the following lines of authority:
Life, Accident & Health
Property & Casualty
Variable Life & Variable Annuity Products
Limited Life, Health, and Accident
Appointments active as of June 27, 2025, will be included in the invoice. Any appointment added on or after June 28 will fall outside of this year’s billing cycle. Business entities must be in active status to be renewed.
Payment and Processing Guidelines
Accepted payment methods include electronic checks and credit cards, with a $60,000 credit card limit. If your invoice exceeds this threshold, contact the Louisiana Department of Insurance directly. NIPR will process payments and forward renewal data to the state within 24 hours of receipt.
The state fee is $100 per appointment, and there is no late renewal window—so timely payment is essential. NIPR’s processing fee is 1% of the state fee with a minimum of $5 and a cap of $1,000. All fees are non-refundable.
If you believe your invoice contains errors, do not pay immediately. Contact support@nipr.com for assistance.
Reconciliation Support
For carriers needing to reconcile their appointments before renewal, NIPR Subscribers can use the Company Appointment Report (CAR) and Interactive Appointment and Termination Application. Not yet a subscriber? Reach out to NIPR or work with a reseller like Agenzee for guided support.
Summary
With no grace period and strict deadlines in place, it’s essential to plan for Louisiana’s 2025 business entity appointment renewals. Review your active appointments now, process any necessary terminations, and be ready to pay promptly once the invoice period begins on July 1, 2025.
