Continuing Education (CE)
CE requirements:
- 24 hours of CE (including 3 hours of ethics) for Life, Accident & Sickness, Property, Casualty, and/or Personal Lines every 2 years.

Note: Producers who hold licenses exclusively in credit, surety, travel, title, crop, or car rental do not need to complete continuing education, but they are still required to renew their license every two years.

When do I need to renew my West Virginia insurance license?
Licenses in West Virginia require renewal and completion of CE every 2 years on the last day of the licensee’s birth month. Renew up to 90 days before the license expiration date.
What if I miss the West Virginia insurance license renewal deadline?
West Virginia does NOT have a grace period. If you fail to renew on time, the license will expire or be suspended, and all appointments will be cancelled. The licensee has up to one year to reinstate the license after paying a late fee.
