FAQs
When do I need to renew my North Carolina insurance license?
Licenses in North Carolina are perpetual and do not require renewal; however, licensees must complete the required Continuing Education every two years by the last day of their birth month to maintain an active license. All CE must be completed at least 60 days before the license expiration cycle. Please allow up to 72 hours for CE completions to appear in the system.
What if I miss the North Carolina insurance license renewal deadline?
If a licensee misses the CE renewal deadline, a grace period of 4-months allows time for a late completion after paying a fee of $75. Failing to complete CE requirements within 4 months results in license inactivation. The licensee will have to restart the licensing process as a new applicant.
How can I track my North Carolina producer CE credits?
Use tools available on the North Carolina-specific VerifyMyCE account.
Where can I check my North Carolina insurance license application status?
You can check your application status on the NIPR website.
