Renewal season is almost here for the state of Vermont—and if you manage appointments, it’s time to take action. Vermont’s 2025 appointment renewal period runs from June 3 to June 30, and companies need to act quickly to ensure accurate invoicing, on-time payments, and termination deadlines are all handled before the clock runs out.
Key Dates and Deadlines for Appointment Renewal
The renewal invoice period for Vermont company appointments will run from June 3 through June 30, 2025. All terminations must be submitted no later than May 31, 2025, as no terminations will be accepted after this date. Once the renewal cycle is complete, appointments will be updated to reflect as renewed on the Producer Database (PDB) with a display date of June 1, 2026. There is no expected downtime for appointment or termination processing during this period, and PDB alerts will remain active throughout. State Rules & Requirements
All appointment renewals must be processed through NIPR—direct payments to the Vermont DOI will not be accepted.
Invoices are based on active licenses for both the company and the appointee.
No terminations will be accepted after May 31, 2025. Any new appointments submitted on or after this date won’t be included in the 2025 renewal cycle and will instead renew in 2026.
NIPR payments (credit card or e-check) are forwarded to the state within 24 hours.
NIPR and appointment renewal fees are non-refundable.
If you spot an error on your invoice, don’t pay right away—contact NIPR Support at support@nipr.com for guidance. Click here to view and pay your invoice: Company Appointment Renewals User Agreement
Fee Structure Overview
Fees vary based on the line of authority (LOA), and insurance carriers domiciled in Vermont are exempt from charges. Highlights include:
$80 per LOA for most lines, including Life, Health, Property & Casualty
$90 per LOA for limited lines like Travel, Credit, Car Rental, and more
Grouping fees apply to certain LOAs, such as Property & Casualty or Life & Health
Before invoices are generated, companies with an NAIC CoCode can reconcile their appointment records using NIPR’s Company Appointment Report (CAR). NIPR subscribers can also utilize the Interactive Appointment and Termination Application for real-time updates. For those who are not subscribers, you can verify your subscription status—or work with an NIPR reseller such as Agenzee, which can assist carriers with reviewing who is and is not appointed prior to the renewal cycle to help ensure accurate processing and reduce costly errors.

Vermont’s renewal window is tight, and staying on top of your licensing and appointment tasks now can prevent delays and penalties later.
